Current Education System
We all have a concept of education that is gaining knowledge or reading books and get a lot of information. We send our children to schools so that they can get good marks by reading books and all that. This is what we think the education is. But this is not education. By reading books and getting lots of information will make a person literate not educated.
Education is something else. Education shapes the overall performance of a person. It changes a person's mind. It makes him morally good . It teaches him to respect others. It teaches him manners etc. In general I would like to say it makes him a true human being
As one of the holocaust survivors says:
"I am a survivor of a concentration camp. My eyes saw what no person should witness: gas chambers built by learned engineers. Children poisoned by educated physicians. Infants killed by trained nurses. Women and babies shot by high school and college graduates.
So, I am suspicious of education.
My request is this: Help your children become human. Your efforts must never produce learned monsters, skilled psychopaths or educated Eichmanns. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are important only if they serve to make our children more human."
Education starts right from the Mother's lap.
We all have heard the proverb. "Mother is the first school for a child". But do we really care about it?
I have to say something about the current education system. I don't blame only schools and the collages but the parents are equally responsible for this kinda mindset.
First of all today's parents have wrong concept of education as I said in the beginning parents send their children to school so that they can read the books no matter he/ she likes it or not. Then he will get good marks . After that he will get admission in a good college and then he will get a good job and earn lots of bundles of money .
That is what they call a successful life.
This is not the right thinking . We all say that parents must take care of the children. What does this mean ? that they should not let him go near fire ? that they should not let him go on road alone etc.
No, this is not what taking care of means . It means they should teach him manners. They should teach him to respect every human being etc.
In the current world we are living in parents leave their children with the babysitter and then they go to their offices. What will a babysitter teach a baby . They don't even feed him mother's milk, but powdered milk taken from market. And when he gets of 3 or 4 , they send him to school with a bag of books which is double of his weight. He doesn't get the Mother's love and father's affection. ...From the very beginning his goals are dashed to the ground.
Now come to our schools
In schools teachers tell him to mug up the books to get the top position. Our education system in schools is totally corrupted . The Institutions fill their pockets to make a person literate. That teach him to have one goal that is to pass the exam and get a good position and that's it. Here I will not say anything about a government schools because we all know what is happening these days in Government schools.
Now a boy or girl is told right from the beginning to be a doctor or engineer whatever to get the money.
Money Money Money. It is our Prime goal. Everyone in this world is after money and other nonsense things . Materialism has surrounded our society.
Now just think about it if a person becomes a doctor Whose aim is to make money, How will he do justice to his patients? It is obvious he will treat them as customers .
Same is the case with engineers. He will just think of the ways to make money. Show the project to be of 1 crore, but actually it is just of 30 or 40 lacs or even less. Use third class materials in it. And you know, what is happening these days .
Same is the case with other professions. They just run after money.
When all this happens how will our teachers be at back. They come to lead them by opening their shops. Yes They open the shops in the name of coaching institutions.
{ The following part was added to the original article later}
It is a common belief that many professionals, including teachers, are driven primarily by the pursuit of financial gain. This mentality can lead to a focus on making as much money as possible, rather than on providing high-quality services or making a positive impact in the lives of others.
In the case of teachers, this can manifest itself in the form of coaching institutions, or private tutoring businesses, which are often run by teachers themselves. While there is nothing inherently wrong with a teacher supplementing their income in this way, it can raise concerns about the motivations behind their work and the potential negative effects on the education system as a whole.
For one, the proliferation of coaching institutions can create a two-tiered education system, where those who can afford the extra help receive a superior education to those who cannot. This can further exacerbate existing inequalities and create a more divided society.
Additionally, the focus on making money can also lead to a prioritization of profit over the quality of the education being provided. Teachers may be more concerned with attracting as many paying students as possible, rather than with providing the best possible learning experience for each individual student.
It is important to recognize that teachers, like all professionals, deserve to be fairly compensated for their work. However, the pursuit of money should not be the primary motivator for their profession. Teachers have the important role of shaping the minds of the next generation and should be focused on providing high-quality education and guidance to their students.
Ultimately, it is essential to strike a balance between the need for financial stability and the desire to make a positive impact in the world through one's profession. Teachers, like all professionals, should be mindful of their motivations and ensure that they are not solely driven by the pursuit of financial gain.
